Inside The Visit: Samples, Measuring And A Written Quote
- A home visit at a time that suits your household, including evenings and weekends, with cabinet door samples, worktop swatches (granite, quartz, Corian and laminate) and hardware and handle options brought to the property
- On-site measuring of the kitchen space using our own measurement tools, so the design is based on the real room rather than a rough sketch or floor plan sent over email
- A design conversation covering layout, storage, appliance positions and cabinet style, worked through with you in the room itself rather than on a generic showroom display
- A written, itemised quotation left with you or sent on afterwards, so there is something concrete to compare and consider rather than a verbal price given on the day
- Paint and finish sample cards you can hold against your own units, worktops and walls in your own lighting before committing to a colour
Not Included / Costed Separately
- The visit itself is design, measuring and quoting only -- it doesn't include any fitting or removal work; installation is booked and scheduled separately once you've agreed to proceed
- A single home visit can't replicate a full-size, working kitchen display -- if handling a complete cabinet run or seeing a worktop edge profile in three dimensions matters to your decision, mention it when booking so it can be planned for
- Structural changes such as moving a stud wall or altering plumbing and electrical runs need a fuller site survey before they can be priced accurately -- the consultation flags these but doesn't cost them in detail on the day
- Gas hob and range cooker installation is carried out separately by a Gas Safe registered engineer during the fitting phase, not as part of the design consultation itself
From Booking To Finished Kitchen In Six Stages
- Booking the visit -- Get in touch by phone, email or the contact form and arrange a visit at a time that suits your household, including evenings and weekends, with no callout charge.
- The home consultation -- Samples of cabinet doors, worktops, hardware and paint finishes travel to your kitchen, the room is measured on the spot, and layout and style options are talked through in your actual space and lighting.
- Written quotation -- A detailed, itemised quotation is prepared from those measurements and left with you or sent on, so it can be compared against other options in your own time with no pressure to sign on the day.
- Design and planning -- Once you're ready to proceed, the design is finalised and the in-house team -- designers, joiners, plumbers, electricians and tilers -- is scheduled under one project manager.
- Installation -- Qualified trades carry out the fit: City & Guilds joiners on the cabinetry, NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds plumbers on sinks and taps, Part P-registered electricians on lighting and power, and a Gas Safe registered engineer on any gas hob or range cooker.
- Sign-off and guarantee -- The finished kitchen is walked through together before sign-off, backed by a 5-year guarantee on labour and installation and a 2-year guarantee on products.
Free To Book, Priced Once We've Measured Your Room
The home visit itself is free, with no obligation to book anything afterwards. What the finished kitchen costs depends on the size of the room, the cabinet style chosen, the worktop material, and how much plumbing, electrical or gas work the fit involves -- all things that only become clear once the room has been measured and samples held against it in place. That's the reason for the two-stage approach: the visit produces a written, itemised quotation rather than a ballpark figure given over the phone, so the price reflects the actual kitchen rather than an estimate. If a job turns out to need work outside the original scope, such as moving plumbing or opening up a wall, that's costed and agreed with you before it's added to the price.
Mobile Consultation And A Fixed Showroom, Side By Side
| Mobile Home Consultation | Fixed Showroom Visit | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you see materials | In your own kitchen, under your own lighting | Under showroom lighting, which can shift how a colour or finish actually reads |
| Appointment times | Evenings and weekends by arrangement | Usually within standard opening hours |
| Seeing a full-size display | Not possible on a single home visit -- samples and photos only | Possible, if the showroom stocks that exact range |
| Measuring | Done on the spot, in the room the kitchen is going into | Usually needs a separate follow-up visit to your home anyway |
| Getting a price | Written quotation after the visit, based on real measurements | Often a verbal estimate on the day, refined later |
Why Your Own Kitchen Beats A Showroom Bay
A fixed showroom has to light and stage its displays to make every door and worktop look its best, which is exactly what makes it hard to picture that same laminate or quartz sitting against your own units, your own floor and your own wall colour. A mobile consultation swaps that staged setting for the room the kitchen is actually going into -- the same daylight, or lack of it, the finished units will sit in, and the same awkward chimney breast, boxed-in pipework or sloped ceiling that a showroom's straight, uniform bays never have to account for. Measuring happens in that same visit rather than from a sketch or a set of dimensions emailed over beforehand, so an out-of-square wall or an oddly placed socket gets designed around from the start instead of turning up as a surprise once fitting begins. Evening and weekend appointments mean the visit fits around work and family commitments rather than the other way around, and because there's no showroom floor to keep running, the samples arrive at your door at no cost and with no pressure to decide before they leave again -- the written quotation stays with you to weigh up at home, next to the actual kitchen it's for.
Towns And Villages The Mobile Showroom Reaches
The mobile consultation covers Wakefield and the surrounding towns and villages, including Castleford, Knottingley (where the company is based, on Woodville Way), Featherstone, Normanton, Pontefract, Ossett, Crofton, Walton, Outwood, Stanley, Hemsworth, South Kirkby and Altofts. Being based in Knottingley keeps evening and weekend visits practical across that stretch of the West Riding, from Wakefield's older stone-built terraces through to newer estates further out, without the visit itself needing to be built around a long drive.
