If your kitchen worktop is cracked, badly stained or just past the point where sanding it back would help, a straight swap for a new slab is usually more sensible than starting the whole kitchen again. We measure, cut and fit quartz, granite, Corian, laminate and porcelain worktops for kitchens across Wakefield and the surrounding towns, working from a laser template so the new surface matches your actual walls and cabinets rather than a set of assumed measurements. Most worktop jobs start with a straightforward conversation about what's failing on the current surface, which material you're leaning towards, and whether the cabinets underneath need anything sorting before new stone goes on top. From there it's a home visit with samples, a templating appointment, then fitting once the stone has been cut in our own workshop -- usually a matter of weeks rather than months, and always with the price agreed in writing before the old worktop comes out.

What's Included in a Worktop Installation -- and What Isn't

  • A free home consultation where we bring material samples and talk through quartz, granite, Corian, laminate and porcelain options for your kitchen
  • A laser templating visit, usually around half a day, that captures the exact shape of your worktop run including any out-of-square walls or cabinets
  • Cutting, edge profiling and polishing of your worktops at our Yorkshire workshop before they come to site
  • Removal and disposal of your old worktops, carried out under our registered waste carrier licence
  • Cutouts and drainer grooves for sinks, hobs and taps, including preparation for undermount sinks
  • Fitting the new worktops with joints aligned to your cabinets, followed by a final clean-up
What's Included in a Worktop Installation -- and What Isn't

Not Included / Costed Separately

  • Connecting water supplies, waste pipework and appliances -- this is carried out by qualified plumbers as a specified part of the job, not bundled into the worktop price
  • Strengthening or altering cabinets that aren't sturdy enough to carry stone -- we flag this at consultation and price it separately if it's needed
  • Under-cabinet lighting, new sockets or other electrical changes, which are quoted and carried out separately by Part P-registered electricians
  • Gas hob or range cooker connection, which needs a Gas Safe registered engineer and is priced as its own item
  • Annual resealing of natural stone once granite is fitted -- this is routine aftercare rather than part of the original installation

Cut and Polished at Our Own Workshop, Not Sent Out to a Third Party

Once we've laser templated your kitchen, the worktop goes to our own workshop for cutting, edge profiling and polishing -- it isn't sent off to a separate stone yard we have no control over, so if a cutout needs adjusting or an edge needs another pass, that happens under our roof rather than through another company's schedule. The same team that measures your kitchen is accountable for how the stone comes back, which keeps the gap between templating and fitting day predictable rather than open-ended. That in-house set-up carries through to the rest of the job too: if your new worktop means a sink needs reconnecting or a socket needs moving to clear the new run, that's our own qualified plumbers and electricians coming back to finish it, not a subcontractor we've had to bring in

Worktop Fitting Across Wakefield, Knottingley and the Surrounding Towns

Worktop Fitting Across Wakefield, Knottingley and the Surrounding Towns

We work out of our workshop at 33A Woodville Way in Knottingley, which puts most of Wakefield and the towns around it within a short run down the A1 and M62 -- Castleford and Pontefract to the east, Featherstone and Normanton in between, and Altofts and Stanley on the way into Wakefield itself. A good number of the worktops we template are in the Victorian terraces around Wakefield city centre and the older stone-built cottages you get in Ossett and Crofton, where chimney breasts and out-of-square corners are common enough that we plan for them rather than treat them as a surprise on fitting day. Newer estates in Outwood and Walton tend to give us squarer runs to template but sometimes tighter driveways and stairwells to get the finished slab through, which we check at the consultation rather than on the

day itself. We also cover Hemsworth and South Kirkby to the south, so wherever you are in that stretch of West Yorkshire, the workshop run and templating visit work the same way.
